* Midnight Blue was renamed from "Prussian Blue" in 1958 in response to many a teachers' protested request (a cold war thing?) and Peach was renamed from from the politically incorrect "Flesh" in 1962. Indian Red is being renamed in 1999 to the more politically correct "Chief Wahoo Red".

+ Colors were retired in 1991 and replaced by: Cerulean, Dandelion, Fuchsia, Jungle Green, Teal Blue, Royal Purple, Vivid Tangerine & Wild Strawberry. Oh no! A tragedy of unparalleled magnitude!

Crayola also had boxes of 8, 16, 24, 32 & 48. The colors for those sets are the first 8, 16, 24, 32 or 48 listed here.
