Oversee the logistics and administrative requirements of the department. Supervise employees within the department. Evaluate the performance of department personnel. Interview and select new field service technicians. Troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade various components of the European NIPRnet and SIPRnet Wide Area Networks. These components include Cisco 2500/4000/7000/7010/7206/7507/7513 series IP Routers; Fore ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) Core (TNX-1100 and ASX-200BX) and Edge (ES-3810 and Power Hub 7000) devices; TimePlex-1500 protocol converters, Tellabs T-Codexs, and Fiber Optic Cables. Additionally, perform circuit level troubleshooting of problems with permanent virtual circuits (PVCs), Smart PVCs, LAN emulation (LANE), constant bit rate (CBR), variable bit rate (VBR), and available bit rate (ABR), Encryption Units (KG-84, 94, 194, and KIV-7), CSU/DSU's (Larscom, Pairgain, Codex), modems, and other ancillary equipment utilized within the networks.
