'

O Joy that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to thee:
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
And feel the promise is not vain,
That morn shall tearless be'
George Matheson 1842-1906

The joy of the Lord is your strength - Nehemiah 8:10

The beautiful hymn written by the blind minister of Innellan Argyll, has touched many hearts.  George Matheson had no sight but he saw more clearly than most.  He had an inner joy that the world can only marvel at.  To have the joy of the Lord blowing warmth into whatever situation we find ourselves, can help us to face all our tomorrows.  We may be sad, we are not immune to life's sorrow or pain, but even in the middle of the fiercest storm we can experience an inner joy that no man can take away.
