Why Graphic Design?
I chose Graphic Design as an outlet for my creativity. After brief experience with marketing I found a love for brand recognition. I wanted to create something that people could instantly recognize. I also love the idea of promoting a brand or product through design.
One of my favorite elements of Graphic Design is print media. I have always been fascitnated by effective print design. Whether it mean the cover art of a book to a well designed magazine spread. I can honestly say I would not have found myself taking up Graphic Design unless I had gone through Business and Marketing courses. One of my favorite parts of print design would have to be logo design. I think it is amazing how much detail goes unrecognized in comapanies logos. To me it is so much fun working with all the elements that makes up the company and creating a small (in comparison) logo to stand for it all.
What are my goals?
I want to use the skills that I learned in order to create or influence a brand. I would like to take an identity and expand it. I want to express my companies core values clearly and professionly through design. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I want to make effective use of design to speak volumes for my company.
