Maiden is another band who's quite a few CDs fill places in my collection well. I have never seen them live, but would love to - I think their era is almost past, however, and doubt I will get that chance. :( Iron Maiden's reputation and place in the history of metal music is undeniable. My favourite songs are The Rime of The Ancient Mariner, Aces High, Can I Play With Madness, Infinite Dreams, The Clairvoyant, Run To The Hills and several others.

Crowbar is a modern *very* heavy and grinding metal band out of New Orleans, who really push thier instruments to the extreme in similar fashion to Metallica and other bands of the "awesome genre". A major reason for thier somewhat-widespread-in-the-metal-circles recognition is the fact that Beavis and Butthead used one of thier clips in one of thier cartoons once. Very cool. My favourite tracks are: No quarter, All I had I gave, Fixation, & I Have Failed.

Dimmu Borgir are about the most death-metal-like band which I like, and I even dont like some of the songs too much on thier only album which I own: Enthrone Darkness Triumphant. However, the first track on that CD: Mourning Palace, makes up for it in a big way! They are Nordic, and very extreme. That's great, but in some songs they scream too much - that sucks, as it is not complimented with *heavy* guitar riffs all the time. Still, Dimmu Borgir are immeasurably better than virtually *any* fag pop bands! ;) Dimmu Borgir are Shagrath, Tjodalv, Erkekjetter Silenoz, Nagash & Stian Aarstad - cool names!
