This is a simple "track" board game.

YOU WILL NEED:
Printout of board (laminated if possible, to add durability.)
Die (numbers or dots)
Counters - different colour for each child

RULES OF PLAY:
Start at the centre of the snail "shell" marked "start," the first to reach the "tail" is the winner. You can decide beforehand whether you are going to require the exact number to finish, or simply to pass off the end of the snail's tail: this will depend on the age and ability of the children playing the game.
Throw the die in turn and move the appropriate number of spaces. If a counter lands on a letter, the child must find the picture of the object which begins with that letter and move to that square.
The game can be varied by reversing the procedure i.e if the counter lands on a PICTURE, then the child has to find the LETTER that object begins with.
