TEACHING OBJECTIVES :
Recognition and naming of simple adjectives / opposites - big, little, long, short, fat, thin, happy and sad.

YOU WILL NEED :
A copy of the picture (above) and the base board (below.) Laminating both will strengthen the game and extend its life.
Join the marks from top to bottom edges, and side to side, with a faint pencil mark, dividing the picture into 8 rectangular pieces of equal size. Cut the picture up into its component pieces. (At this point it is a good idea to mark the backs of the cards with a distinguishing number, colour etc., to make sorting out mixed jigsaws easier!)

All of these "self-checking" jigsaw-type games follow the same principle : the pupil reads the word(s) on the base board and places the appropriate picture to cover that square. If the answers are all correct, they will make a picture. Any errors will immediately be obvious from errors in the picture.
