The San Antonio Choral Society was founded in 1965 by Gwilym H. Isaac. It is an organization in which auditioned singers drawn from the community can participate in providing quality presentations of a variety of choral works to San Antonio and South Texas audiences. For over a quarter of a century, the San Antonio Choral Society has been recognized as a truly professional musical organization. Under the current leadership of Dr. Gary Mabry assisted by Ruth Moreland the chorus will present the following concerts for the 2001 - 2002  season:

From the Russian choral tradition of Rachmaninoff, to the Viennese flavor of Mozart, to the sounds of contemporary American composer Morten Lauridsen, this first concert of the season will sample many facets of the choral art.

From the rousing Alexander's Ragtime Band to the nostalgic Always, Russian-born composer Irving Berlin stands as one of the cornerstones of American popular music.
