POSAUNE PROFILE (Alumni) October 2002 Scott Cranston B.M. '92, Double Major in Performance and Music Education Scott is entering his second full season as principal trombonist of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra. Highlights of this season include a performance of Mahler's 8th Symphony at Carnegie Hall in November and a performance of Bolero in October. Scott is principal trombonist of the Bridgeport Symphony and the Waterbury Symphony and also performs with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. Scott is entering his 5th year as the Director of Bands at New Canaan High School, CT. He is the director of the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, and the Spring Musical production. The bands will tour New Orleans, LA in April. The ensembles will be adjudicated at Loyola University and will perform at the Hibernia River Walk in downtown New Orleans. A special treat for the Jazz Ensemble will be sitting in with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band for a rehearsal. Scott lives in Trumbull, CT with his wife Tracey (McGreevy, Hartt '92). Tracey had a successful career in music education in Fairfield and Westport, CT before becoming a guidance counselor. She currently works at Masuk High School in Monroe, CT. Tracey and Scott are the proud parents of Kelly, 4-1/2 and Ryan, 1-1/2. Back to Top |
