John Carroll Flinn was the first child born to Isaiah Flinn and Rhoda Wood Teague. He was born in 1829 in Bolivar, Hardeman County, Tennessee. He married Susan Frances McGuire in 1856. As a young man he worked for a time as a saddle maker. He attended the University of Nashville, now Vanderbilt, and eventually graduated as a doctor. After the Civil War he migrated to Texas arriving there on New Years Day, 1870. He eventually settled on a farm near Hutto, Texas and practiced medicine in the Hutto area until he died in 1895. John Carroll and Susan Frances had sixteen children. They were: |
