PRESIDENT'S CORNER
By Edd Bush

As I begin this auspicious and monumental task, let me thank the countless volunteers, loyal poll workers, campaign contributors and you, the voters, for this largest of all mandates.  I promise to return to the office of the President, honesty, integrity and truthfulness, an office free of political graft, payoffs, corruption and money laundering.  Just kidding - Sam!

I was particularly delighted, encouraged and enthused by the attendance at Al and Elaine's picnic. Thank you Al and Elaine for a great evening.  I hope this enthusiasm and participation will carry over into the New Millennium (Y2K) provided we can get our cars started.

From a personal standpoint, Marilea and I are grateful for and appreciative of our Miata Car Club and the "nice people" who belong.  People we've been fortunate to meet and count as our friends. We both feel we are lucky to have been given this pleasure.  I hope each of you will join us on our trips for this coming year.  We have some exciting trips, both day and overnighters that promise to be fun.  Remember our Car Club and trips are for you and your enjoyment.  Thanks to Rob for keeping our books, Sue Rabold for volunteering for Activities Director,  and of course a big thanks to Charlie and Barbara for stepping forth.  Thank you, Sam, for keeping the ship afloat - you deserve a break today.  Watch for the upcoming newsletters - full of info for all.  Remember  breakfast on the first Saturday of the month.  We have a great time - eating, relaxing and visiting.  Come join us - get to know your club members.  Remember,  "We meet to eat."
