What a Pleasure to Treasure |
My Fellow Shareholders, I realize and appreciate the awesome responsibility
and faith you have all placed in me. I am honored that you see fit
to allow me to control the vast financial empire that is the Roadrunner
Miata Club. In this world of booming stock markets and
economies, I recognize there are many ways for you to invest your funds,
however, you trust them to me. I won't pretend; it hasn't been easy,
there have been many sleepless nights with the associated pressure but
it is my pleasure to serve. Rest assured every $10.00 is treated
with the reverence it deserves, my goal, to give you the greatest return
on your investment. In summary, I was entrusted the sum of $430.40
as of 1/1/99; that balance has now grown to $669.41 as of the date of
this writing. That equates to a return of 56% - after "personal
management fees" an annualized return of 58%. This rate of return
compares favorably to the Dow Jones Industrial Average and The S&P
500, whilst lagging the NASDAQ horribly. We will continue to focus our portfolio 100%
in the Roadrunner Miata Capital Erosion Fund. Its diversified holdings
include a goodly supply of membership cards, 25 x 32 cent stamps, and
a $75.00 down-payment for Christmas party meat. The fund continues
its focus in regional markets, specifically the region West of Juan Tabo
and East of the Interstate. Major investments were made in Kinkos,
USPO, and Keller's Meats, to the benefit of our shareholders and their
waistlines. We continue to look for aggressive returns
in the market, there maybe a significant "growth opportunity" if we buy
a bottle of Rogaine for our President! Thank you for your continued support as we
drive forward into the new Miata Millennium. Your Treasurer. P.S. Now the truth: Beginning Balance 1/1/1999 $
