Nightmarkets are a completely Asian phenomenon. Perhaps America thinks it came up with the 24 hour store- but late night shopping and convenience are direct decendents of nightmarkets. In the US they would be illegal due to zoning and firecodes- in Europe people would just not work that long. In other parts of the world they wouldn't have even a fraction of the salable merchandise.

You can eat, shop, bargain and haggle at these markets. And you must try bao bing, cho do-fu, the sausages, and ba-wan.
