What is Rave? I have never heard something called Rave. Is it some kind of food? A religous cult? A name on clothes?

My own decription of what i think Rave is:
Firstly i have to tell that the word Rave stands for a few things; a name of the culture itself, a musicstyle and a large number of people in an very big house or building, then if this stands for something else, please MAIL�ME !
Rave is what i think a culture of som kind, a culture where people gather and dances trough the nights. Many of the "ravers" wear often different clothes than "normal" peoples. Often batic, colorfull t-shirts, pants with many pockets. They want to be seen. The culture itself have been associated with much drugs, and i can't disagree that there are no drugs at Raves. But what i always say to others is: You decide by you own if you want to use drugs or not, i see no greater point in doing drugs than for the effects, but after all it is maybe because of that reson they do drugs. The biggest thing what i believe Rave stands for is the music. The most wonderful music that excists. Ok, i listen to other kind of music to, but absolutely most in Rave/Techno music. It is also hard to define what Ravemusic is. Because there are more than 80 different music-styles. Everything from the slowest "Ambient" which has an speed of 0-80 Bmp, to the fastest "Gabber" or "Speedcore" which has an speed of 200-500 Bpm. There are many different styles in each music-style and from one style there come new ones, and it surely seems that it will never end, as long as the music lives, and my thought is that this music wont die, maybe just rest in a couple of decades. I don't know, just see at the music we listen to now, much is from the 60:ies and the 70:ies. So... lets see in the future.
