A network is a group of two or more computers, connected together through a physical infrastructure, that are able to communicate and exchange information because they agree to use software that observes the same set of rules, or protocol. Computers can communicate on a network because they use a Network Interface Card. This card physically connects each computer to a network and allows the flow of information between the network and each computer. This information flows along a network cable.
