A double-delight? here are two posts from.. I guess you can call it a diary/journal.

I'm crying a bit right now... why? Because we got DSL. Why would someone be so sad about DSL? It's simple.. I see my boyfriend everyday, but we rarely ever do anything meaningful. I know that people that don't see each other often think that even filling up a dishwasher together is meaningful, and I think it is too, however we don't even do that anymore.

We were doing fewer and fewer things together as time went on, but a lot of that had to do with our new jobs. After we got satellite TV (DirecTV), he was more consumed with TV. Now, with DSL, I'm certain I'll lose him more than ever.

Not everything with DSL is set up yet, as only his computer is set up, and the other two aren't yet. I have no interest in helping, as I'm seeing it as something terrible. So, yes, right now I am picking dial-up over broadband.

I have one roommate that enjoys toilet humor, much to my disgust. He often says "TP! TP for my Bunghole!" (immitating the now defunct MTV cartoon Beavis and Butthead?; "TP" stands for "toilet paper.") It's no wonder why he is having so much trouble getting a girlfriend. Regardless, after a late night of cards and his ridiculous sayings, I just declared "A girlfriend is not a substitute for TP!" That quote was written on our apartment board (it has long since been erased).

As per my last entry, my concerns of DSL was not just needless worrying. Two days ago, he helped a roommate with her travel plans with DSL (I doubt he would have done that on dial-up connection for good reasons). While watching TV at night, during the first hour, he watched TV in his room while going online. The second hour he watched in the common room, but during commercials he went back to his room to go back online.

I know him well enough to know that this is not just for the reasons of novelty. I did not see him at all yesterday, so I cannot comment on anymore evidence, but I doubt I have to show more.

A quote from a movie comes to mind. Citizen Kane, Kane's first wife: "Sometimes, I think I'd prefer a rival of flesh-and-blood."

Lastly, I guess if things don't change well in the next few days, then perhaps I will write my own posting on the board:

TP may not substitute a girlfriend, but broadband does.
