I certainly hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day. As for me, it pretty much passed as just another day. And it upsets me to even say that, since I feel that's what single people should say. It's a holiday that should be observed by couples, but those that don't have a significant other should ignore the holiday. Instead, it puts pressure on many to impress the significant other or to have a someone special.

For this year, I gave my boyfriend a pair of Fire Extinguishers. No, no, it's not a metaphor as in "douse our fires of passion" or anything like that. It's just the past two gifts that I have given to him are still unopened. This really does bother me, regarless of his logical reasons. So, I decided to buy something that I hoped that he would never use. Besides, he's been wanting them for quite some time. Hey, at least they're red, so at least I got the color right.

As far as I'm concerned, I got nothing from him. Although on my birthday (8 days before Valentine's Day), he presented to me a pair of train tickets to Washington D.C. Included was also some meals and two nights at a Hilton. Despite how much I complained, I actually had a fantastic time. The gift was greatly appreciated and wished that I could have taken a day off to stay an extra day.

Now, I'm getting off-topic. That was my birthday gift, not a Valentine's Day gift. I would be more than happy to accept it as a combination gift, but that was never stated.

Moreover, in the beginning of the relationship, we both agreed that a celebration/observance doesn't have to be on the exact day, it could be done on the following weekend. I agreed provided that "Happy " wishes was at least said on the day itself. Although I wished him a Happy Valentine's Day to him, the wish was not reciprocated.

I'd love to talk about my love life some more, but I'd be getting off topic. I have never had song lyrics posted here before, but there's a first time for everything. On the monday morning after Valentine's Day, a radio DJ was accepting requests on what best describes your Valentine's Day. I left the car before I heard any calls/requests, but it got me thinking what mine would have been. Well, I'll leave you off with the lyrics of the song that I thought of.

She Hates Me

Met a girl
Thought she was grand
Fell in love
Found out first hand
Went well for a week or two
Then it all came unglued

[chorus]
In a trap
Trip I can't grip
Never thought I'd
be the one who'd slip
Then I started to realize
I was living one big lie
She fuckin' hates me
Trust
She fuckin' hates me
La la la love
love
I tried too hard
And she tore my
feelings like I had none
And ripped them away

She was queen for
about an hour
After that,
shit got sour
She took all
I ever had
No sign of guilt
No feeling of bad, no

[chorus]

That's my story
As you see
Learned my lesson
And so did she
Now it's over
And I'm glad
Cuz I'm a fool
for all I said

[chorus]

La la la la la la la la la love
trust (love) trust
She fuckin' hates me
