... but then again, I don't personally know anyone that actually really loves them, other than immature young boys, but then again, I don't really consider those as people either.
Actually, I don't really HATE bugs, I'm rather very "picky" when it comes to bugs. Most of them, in fact, I don't really hate. Little mosquitoes are sometimes annoying, but they don't really bother me too much. Maybe my blood is inferior to those around me? Or maybe because my skin is so thick that they couldn't get through to my blood veins even if they really wanted it? Heh, beats me, but whatever it is, I'm sure as not complaining. Gnats are also annoying too, but from the majority of my experice with gnats, they don't really annoy us, it's usually us annoying them. Afterall, they are usually all flying together in a swarm and we happen to walk right into them. So, as long as you run your way out of that swarm, that's fine. hmm... what else... the common household Fly. Beats me, they don't really annoy me either. I mean, I think they are really ugly and too big than what I would like my insects to be, but they usually only feed on decaying things anyways. So, unless I was surrounded with decay... actually, I don't even want to think about that. Ants. Well, they are many of them, but they have never ruined my picnic before. Besides, what's so impressive about an ant being able to lift up to 10 times their own weight? Anyone can lift up 10 times an ant's weight!(j/k) And the many forms of bees. Well, I have yet to encounter killer bees, but from the bees that I have encountered, it doesn't really bother me too much either. Afterall, they usually mind their own business and won't hurt you unless you bother it first. Many fear its sting. I don't know if this is true or not, but supposedly when a bee stings it's target, it dies. Well, all I can say it must not die immediately, because I've seen it sting my cousin before and it flew away pretty fast. Well, anyways, I have been stung by bees twice in my life, and neither of them hurt too much. Beats me, the old "thick skin" theory?
Now, there is certainly a difference between "hate" and "fear." But when it comes to bugs, for me, they're pretty closely related. I suppose I have my own criteria of which bugs I hate and fear. Mind you, when I see a bug, I don't consciously go through this process. I tend to hate any bug that bigger than.... well, the size of this oval:

Okay, so it's a pretty small oval, but it's pretty big when you are talking about bugs. I also don't seem to care for the ones that fly too much (so that cuts out moths, dragonflies, and butterflies).
But there are some bugs that if it fits into one of two criteria, I automatically hate them. The first criteria is if they have eight legs. Okay, so only spiders really have eight legs. And yes, I know that spiders are technically mammals, and not bugs, but I will still consider them as bugs since most of the general population does. I HATE spiders, regardless of size. There was actually one time I was driving, and I noticed a very tiny spider on my steering wheel crawlnig closer to my left hand. Man, I freaked out like crazy... luckily my window was open, and I was able to flick it out without much of a problem. The good thing was that I was waiting at a red light, so no accidents occured. Although I wonder what would have happened if I was driving.... About the only thing I do like about spiders is that they catch bugs and get rid of them for me. But why do the egg sacs have to have 500+ eggs in it? ARGH. The more birds there are to get rid of these bugs, the better. I see pictures of children in museums with a tarantula crawling on them. I couldn't imagine myself with a spider on me like that. Oh, I also saw the movie Touchstone Pictures's Arachnophobia. I thought that was the scariest movie ever. I'll never watch it again... I was edgy the entire time! I still have yet ot watch the supposedly the most scaryt movie of all time, some silent German black&white film, but I dunno.
The second criteria is if they can jump. So, yes, I hate grasshoppers. But one I hate the absolute most is this kind of bug, it looks like a spider, but has 6 legs, and can jump like a grasshopper. I have no idea what they are called. But I fear them so much. I think it's so sad, I'm like 50 times bigger than this bug, and I think that the bug has the advantage.
To be honest, I don't even know why I fear them. When I was younger, I didn't care at all. In fact, I used to enjoy observing them. In fact, I once tore off all the legs of a Daddy-Long-Legs just to torment it. Well, hey, my mom told me to kill it, I decided to do it through a slow and painful death. At the time, I thought it was funny seeing a litte ball roll around. But now that I am typing this, I think it is disgusting and wondered how I was able to ever touch it. I also once tore off the wings of an insect and placed it in a spider's web, and got to see the process of the spider cocooning its capture (or rather present). It was interesting, but I remember I didn't finish observing it, since it was too long of a process. Well, anyways, I couldn't even imagine myself knowingly standing that close to a web anymore. So, why am I so scared of bugs NOW? I have no idea, I think part of it might be because it seems like many of my peers do, so I kinda picked it up along the way. Maybe when I grew up I became more concious of things such as diseases and poison.
Oh yeah, there is one bug that I don't fear, but I think are the most annoying (hence I HATE). They are aphids. My rosebushes! :o( Heh, well, what can you do? I heard of many solutions, all strange, but I never took up on any of them. One of them, which involves nicotine sounds very good, however, I have a feeling that it might damage the plant itself. Oh well, beats me.
