Y2K

What more needs to be said about this topic? It's been so overdone that the last thing the world needs is another writing on it. But I'm going to write one anyways because I feel like it. If you don't like it, then to bad, and just don't read this.

It is 11:07 AM Eastern Time right now, and although some parts of the world have already reached the next century, my area, obviously, has not.

The whole publicity of Y2K probably began with the "computer bug," eventhough it technically isn't a "bug." Besides the point, it made people fearful of the turn of the century. Stories have been told of people stocking up on food supplies, and everything. My father is amongst one of those, though not nearly to the extreme. More like just taking precaution. He expect minor problems, and if there are problems, they would only last for one day or so. He made me fill up my car gas tank yesterday; he also bought 5 gallons of water and a large box of candles.

Personally, in terms of the computer world, I am not expecting any problems, however am expecting many problems when it comes to mentalities. For example, drunk driving should be a major problem. Of course, the fear of terrorism is always there.

As for what everyone thinks about the possibility of Armedgeddon, I feel that it is past us. From my own studies of prophets, it should've happened this August/September of 1999. But, I'm not one to say since I am no master of this.

If anyone cares to know, according to my sources, Australia made the transition with no problems, so why can't we? Evenmore surprisingly is that the US stock markets will close early today at 1PM, but the DJIA (Dow Jones Industrials Average) is currently at 11470.13, which is up 17.27. Surprisingly since everyone would probably expect it to tumble due to Y2K.

In anycase, jus ta small reminder that it is NOT THE NEW MILLENIUM. I've known that since 1996, surprisingly. Anyhow, I wish everyone a HAPPY NEW CENTURY. But I really doubt anyone would be making "New Century Resolutions," that would be just way to hard to keep.... 1
