Chapter 21, April 30th, 1999

•We meet again, Nez...
•If you came here to meet the Zoras, you wasted your time...
This is all there is... •With one exception, the Zoras are now sealed under this thick ice sheet...
•I managed to rescuee the Zora princess, but...
she left to head for the Water Temple...
•This ice is created by an evil curse... The monster in the Water Temple is the source of the curse.
•Unless you shut off the source, this ice will never melt....
•If you have the courage to confront the danger and save the Zoras, I will teach you the melody taht leads to the temple.
•Time passes, people move....
Like a river's flow, it never ends...
•A childish mind will turn to noble ambition... Young love will become deep affection... The clear water's surface reflects growth... •Now, Listen to the Serenade of Water to relect upon yourself....

Today is the last day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For me to reflect upon myself, my experience cannot be ignored, for I have never learned more about life in such a short period of time. But let's not get into that since I already have it online.

What I would like to do in this chapter is to reflect myself in comparison to the rest of my peers. I've heard many terms for my generation, those born betwen 1979-1994, such as the "baby boomerang" (play on "BABY BOOMers;"). But for this chapter, I will call up Generation Y, just because I think that's the best name I've heard of us.

It's nothing new that teenagers are the ones deciding who's on top of the Billboard 200. It's also nothing new that teens are a tiny portion in US's demographics, however are the trend-setters, which is why so many ads are directed towards them.

Now, just for Generation Y sake, what do we like? Things that make me ashamed to be associated with this generation, that's for sure!

All-male bands. Prime examples are N'Synch and BackStreet Boys. And TV shows like Dawson's Creek and other shows on the WB channel.

So, what is it that really catches our eye? Things that are "loud and rare." But if you look at it, the popularity of all-male bands have spawned even more bands. The ratings of Dawson's Creek spawned many more pathetic shows. Soon, they will no longer be rare, and the generation will be looking into other things.

Perhaps I am looking into this way too much, but eventhough I am not a part of this trend, I am, reluctantly, a part of Generation Y.
