All Contestants

What should be the end product?
Your imagination is the limit. Examples of possible presentations could be computer mediated multi-media presentation, computer created music, a game, a nature simulation, a physics simulation, etc. Do not let these examples restrict you.

Can I participate in this contest without paying the entry fee?
There is NO entree fee. But you must fill out an entry form where you give some details about yourself. entry form.

Can I participate in this every year?
As long as you meet the entry requirements you can participate. While Second Prize and Honorable Mentions can participate once again, the Grand Prize winner cannot participate in future contests.

How will the entries be judged?
Everything being equal, creative, original ideas have a better chance of attracting attention from the judges.

All the entries will be screened to select the top 10 to 20 entries. The creative nature of your entry, the quality of the execution of your idea and the overall
look and feel of your entry will be the major criteria for picking the top entries.

All the judges will be given a set of criteria against which they will score your entry.

At the final judging session, semi-finalists will have an opportunity to show your work to the judges and to an audience. You can also see other contestant's
work.

Can I work with other family members in preparing for this?
As long as you work with others who also satisfy the age and nationality requirements, it is ok. However, awards will be given only to the individual contestant in whose name the entry form has been filed. There will be no team recognition.

Semi-finalists

Should I be present to win this Award?
If you have been notified that you are in the "short list", you must be present at the final judging to win the Award because you will asked to present your
work to the judges and to a small audience.

Do I have to bring my own computer to give the demo at the final round?
No. However, you must be prepared to demonstrate your entry using the PC Compatible computers provided by the organizers. If you wish to bring your own set up that is fine.

Do I have to bring viewgraphs and other audio-visual presentation materials?
Viewgraphs are not necessary. We encourage you to bring some written material that can be displayed as posters on posterboards. If your presentation requires audio-visuals, please discuss your needs with us.

How long will the final judging last?
Please plan to arrive at least one hour before the final judging session commenses. The session itself will last approximately two to three hours. Please plan for a relaxed afternoon. During judging you will have an opportunity to show your creation not only to judges but also to other people who attend the festivities.
