Riot Grrrl Toronto is a grassroots organization that aims to smash the sterotypes that are forced upon us. We take a D.I.Y. approach to fighting against sexism, homophobia, and the connected forms of opression and other acts of discrimination that affect women, dykes and girls of all races, classes, sizes and abilities. Our goal is to educate and promote change through mediums such as (but not limited to) zine making, culture jamming, fundraising for various causes, concerts, art shows and flyering among others. We stand for a society in which girls are never devalued, marginalized or silenced. We want to give all girls a voice and the support they need to do the activist work they care about.
We want to network with other RG chapters and other radical activist groups. Our meetings are open to everyone who is interested in promoting a girl-positive image in the Toronto 'scene'. That said, we do reserve the right to hold girl-only (trans inclsv.) meetings, should we feel the need.
We are looking for people who are interested in becoming an active part of RGTO.
The girl-positive revolution is not dead.
It's just begining.
