1997 Punkin Chunk

The 1997 season began with hippie Tom, arm in a sling, but with a running motorcycle was compelled by a zealous team and the honor of defending the world catapult title. Left with old vetran equipment of the previous campaigns, and no telephone poles, the VW micro bus was loaded up with all the armaments to engage in what was to be its last visit to battlle at the field of chunkin' lore. A make shift rig was concocted of 4 steel flag poles recieved from an unknowning  donor. By friday the rig was standing with some promise of succeding, but the relentless rain that night and the next morning had washed out the roads, the pit area, and most critically the footings and base of Loaded Boing. The rain however had not washed out the grit and determination of the team to get one shot off. And as the skies cleared on Sunday, before the fireworks lit the sky, a lone punkin' lofted to maybe 200'  to the familar sound of happily slapping rubber bands in the autum wind. When the punkin smashed back to earth extremely short of Loaded Boings post gravitational punkin' return team reciever corp. Co Cap. Paul turned to Co Cap. Pugs with 2 things on his mind. The first thought was how was Loaded Boing gonna improve to survive and second and even more puzzling was who was the scum bag that stole our friggin generator.
