Crescent Road Pond

Monday September 14'th, 1998

This pond had a significant drop of water level several years earlier, due to a beaver dam giving way, exposing lots of deep, muddy shoreline which quickly became covered with sedge grass. A few spots I WAMmed in repetitively stayed open, with places I had left alone slowly getting some grass closing in. This area has the finest textured mud of all my frequented WAMming areas, but it isn't usually until late summer that it finally turns nice and thick. It also tends to be on the cold side for much of the year, especially the thinner stuff. Thicker stuff is slower to chill you due to increased insulating properties.
