Amy started designing when in the fourth grade. She experimented with and rearranged her bedroom countless times. She also worked outside gardening in the yard of her parents farmhouse in Brush, CO. In the eighth grade she decided Landscape Architecture would beautifully combine her talents in drawing and mathematics as well as her love of design and the outdoors. In May of 1998 she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Landscape Architecture from Colorado State University. Also fulfilling an interest in Oriental Garden Design, Amy completed the advanced course in Feng Shui, Space-Time School under Master Joseph Yu. Her professional experience includes work with Becky Hammond, Landscape Architect, one year at Cityscape Urban Design in Fort Collins, CO and collaborative design work with Gulley Greenhouse and Nursery. Even before graduation Amy performed design work in her spare time. A few months after graduation she started Chinook Gardens which has grown steadily ever since. |
