Welcome to the World of HAWORTHIAS and GASTERIAS

the 'jewels' of the plant kingdom

Welcome to my Haworthia & Gasteria pages:-

This page is dedicated to information & pictures relating to cultivation of these plants. The pictures below are an attempt to convey a "feel" of the mix I grow my plants in. Please feel free to email me with any comments or questions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Haworthia badia ....my favourite form

pic:->This is the potting mix which comprises the organic component of my succulent mix. It is made of composted pine bark, fine sand & composted hardwood sawdust

pic:->Washed river sand that I top my pots with ....sometimes quite thickly. It forms an impenetrable barrier to scaria fly & other parasites that only lay eggs in organic material

pic:->My succulent mix which is: 1part Pumice; 2parts Potting mix; 8parts Perlite. I add a small amount of "Osmocote" to the mix at the time of potting
