PRAIRIE PUG SPRING FLING
WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!!
The party, held May 20th, was well attended
by thirty five pugs and their wonderful owners!! Local newspaper
and TV coverage caught the puggies in many hilarious photo ops, including
the pug olympics race, costume contest and cheese ball catching contest.
Blue champion and red reserve champion ribbons were awarded and many puggies
wore their prizes proudly on their harnesses after the events. We
couldn't have asked for better weather. Delicious food and a very
informative talk on pug health issues by a local vet were enjoyed in the
shade of a large, open air tent. Many pugs tried swimming in the
pool (all appropriately attired in safety float vests and supervised by
life guards in the pool). The farthest traveling guests came from
Talequah, OK. A pug paraphanalia auction provided much needed funds
for the wonderful work that Vic and Den do in pug rescue. Shawnee
County Pug rescue has been renamed Prairie Pugs Rescue and this website
will be updated to reflect its support for their tireless efforts. Stay
tuned for info on the upcoming Prairie Pug Fall Festival!
