Kelli is a female black lab mix who was brought in to a local shelter as a stray. Because she isn't a purebred and because the shelters are full of lab mixes, her chances weren't good. But then we went to a local vet's office to deliver some flyers.. A very nice man was introduced to me by the staff, and it was explained that he wanted a new dog--a mixed breed would be fine, maybe a lab mix. Bingo! We called the local shelter to be sure that she hadn't been put to sleep already--thankfully, she hadn't. The man went to the shelter immediately to put her on hold, and a few days later the whole family went to pick up their newest member.
