Below are some of the firearms that I have that do not 'fit' into my main collections as well as some non-firearm militaria that I have picked up to go with the collections. Most of the firearms were picked up due to either a great price or just a spur-of-the-moment decision. Anyhow, they currently maintain a place in the overall collection right now, although in time they may move on to make room for more members of the 'defined collections'. Enjoy the photos and if you have any questions on them, please feel free to drop me a line.
Handguns:
- 1939 Enfield No.2 Mk1* .38/200 (.38 S&W) (Great Britain) - a Double-action-only revolver, it is also a topbreak action design
- 1961 Makarov 9x18mm (East Germany) - a Double-action pistol originally designed by the Russians, these were supposedly carried by the STASI (EG Secret Police)
- 1953 CZ52 7.62x25mm (Czechoslovakia) - a Single-action pistol with a hammer-drop safety, it features a unique roller-block locking mechanism
Longarms:Other Militaria:
- M1 Garand .30-06 (USA) - an 8-shot semiautomatic, this particular one is an early 1953 International Harvester; unfortunately, it is a re-import and the only original parts are the receiver, rear sight and barrel.
- M1896 6.5x55mm (Sweden) - a 5-shot bolt action, this particular one is a 1905 Carl Gustaf.
- M1896/38 6.5x55mm (Sweden) - a 5-shot bolt action, this rifle is one of only 30,000 M1896s converted to the carbine size. It is built from a 1902 Carl Gustaf.
- No.1 Mk.III* .303 (England) - a 10-shot bolt action, this rifle is an all-matching 1918 BSA in excellent shape.
- MAS36 7.5x54mm (France) - a 5-shot bolt action, this particular one can also be seen in its original wrap along with a close-up of the repackaging slip dated 29 JULY 1974.
- M38 Mosin-Nagant 7.62x54mmR (Russian) - Manufactured at Izhevsk in 1944, this model was replaced that year with the M44 (the major difference being that the M44 sported a folding bayonet).
- M44 Mosin-Nagant 7.62x54mmR (Russian) - Also manufactured at Izhevsk in 1944, this model replaced the M38, again offering the Russian soldier with the comfort of a bayonet (here it is extended).
- vz52 7.62x45mm (Czech) - This unique semiauto was adopted in 1952 and replaced in 1957 by its vz52/57 sibling (chambered in 7.62x39mm Russian). This particular one sports the 'Recon/Commando' paint job as done by the importer, Century Arms. (here it is with the bayonet extended).
- MAS 49/56 7.5x54mm (France) - a 10-shot semiautomatic, this was the French Army's answer to the shooting 'Swiss Army Knife.'
- M1946 7.92x57mm (Turkey) - a 5-shot bolt action, this is a pattern built by the Turks on old German receivers. Very similar to a k98, it is a neat rifle for the money.
- vz24 7.92x57mm (Czechoslovakia) - a 5-shot bolt action, this is actually part of the Romanian Contract, known due to the R in the Serial Number. As popular as the k98, it is a great rifle for the money.
- M91/59 Mosin-Nagant 7.62x54mmR (Bulgarian? Russian?) - Originally manufactured by Izhevsk in 1943, this rifle was reworked somewhere along the way; Some say Bulgaria while others say Russia. Either way, it is an excellent weapon and was refinished to much better shape than the parent M91/30 could have ever hoped.
- M1909 Cavalry Carbine 7.65x53mm (Argentina) - a 5-shot bolt action, this particular carbine was produced by DWM in Germany. Based on the Mauser 98, this is one smooth functioning and extremely handy rifle.
- Steyr M95/34 8x56mm (Austria) - a 5-shot 'straight pull' bolt action, this is one of the most unique rifles I have ever handled. This appears to have been converted from a 1932-dated M95!
- M44 Mosin-Nagant 7.62x54mmR (Poland) - Manufactured at Radom, this weapon served in the Polish Forces up until the 1980s. Here it is with the bayonet extended.
