The USS Ronald Reagan

The USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) is scheduled to begin construction in 1998, and be ready for deployment by 2002. Current plans are for it to be a Nimitz class carrier, and would very similar to the picture above. The Nimitz class is the largest class of carrier in use by the United States today, and also comprises the majority of the carrier fleet. This is probably because you can't go wrong with 90,000+ tons of American bad-assness at your command. It is a great honor both for the ship and the ex-president that the new carrier be named 'Reagan', even though Reagan was able to destroy the Soviet Union without the help of this planned carrier.
