Medium Weapons

These are excellent supplementary weapons. Every Nerfer should have one.

Manta Ray

This is a pretty good gun. It is reasonably accurate, and has the ability to fire groups of 2 or 4 darts It is made to be used as a shield, but the way I play (and, I believe, many others play), the gun is a viable target. The gun gives you that much more firepower, but it's bulky and hard to carry. Overall a higher than average rating.

Eagle Eye

Hmm, this one's a toughie. It has pretty good range and accuracy, and the light does works indoors in the dark, but it alerts anybody who is paying attention to your location. Personally, I don't want to carry around a gun this big if it only shoots one shot at a time.

Ripsaw

This gun is basically useless. It has to be revved up before shooting, which means you can't cock it ahead of time. The loud noise makes your whereabouts know to the entire world, and it only shoots three balls (inaccurately!) before you have to load up again. My recommendation: only buy it if you see it at a garage sale for five bucks.

Defender T-3

Not the worst weapon there is, but close. The two barrels take forever to load, and it is impractical to try and separate the two guns in the middle of a battle. Cute, but impractical.

Sharpshooter

The Sharpshooter -- the first weapon made by Nerf that used darts. Good range, good accuracy, the Sharpshooter is an excellent weapon to have as a backup.

Sharpshooter II

The younger but larger brother of the Sharpshooter, this weapon has similar range and accuracy, but also has the ability to shoot a second dart by moving the green shifter on the bottom of the barrel. All in all, a fine secondary weapon.

Perceptor

What in the world was Nerf thinking?!! This thing has no usefulness. It's impossible to aim and has NO range! Buy an Arrowstorm with the $20! This is second in uselessness only to the detonator. Do not buy!

NB-1

This gun is one of the older ones. It is not worth the money unless you can find it for a couple bucks at a garage sale. It is really reliable, though, and can be counted on in the end. All in all, not a bad last-ditch weapon.

Missile Storm

This is a pretty pathetic gun. The posts bend and break very easily, so don't drop it! It can use darts on it instead, which works well if you are playing indoors. I doubt you'd find one in stores and don't buy a used one for more than $4!

SneakShot

This gun has a barrel that swivels and supposedly lets you shoot around corners. Give me a break! This thing is weak and inaccurate, and the swiveling is useless (who needs it?!). Do NOT buy this gun.

Rattler

This gun has an incredibly awkward cocking mechanism, which throws off your aim incredibly. On the other hand, it has four darts that can fire quickly and accurately without reloading. I wouldn't buy one, but I've heard of other people liking this gun.

Ratchet Blast

The RachetBlast is a four shot cocking repeater. It is an average gun, with only moderate range. It's cocking mechanism is really fun but it's a little hard to get used to. It's fairly hard to cock with one hand unless you are older. One good thing is that you'll scare the person on the receiving end because it has the loudest fire I've ever heard. Better than the Rattler, but not anything spectacular.

Mad Hornet

I don't own one of these, but from what I've heard, it's true that the gun really lacks range. I think it has potential, though. It can fire all 6 darts semiauto, although they decrease in range at the end. But if you fire only two or so at a time, and pump it all the way back up in between, it can be useful, especially indoors. Overall, it's an average gun. Wait till it comes down in price before you buy one.

Raven Fin

This gun is not one of the best guns I have ever used. It has almost no power, and therefore no range to speak of either. The green fins on top pop up when you fire, but really, what good is that? Not a gun that I would want to buy anytime soon.

Laser Fang

This gun is a smaller, lighter version of the Eagle Eye. It has a lower range and accuracy than it's brother, and is rather awkward to load I find. However, it is not a terrible gun to get if you need to use a laser sight. An average gun.

RipChord

I've only used this gun once, and that was while I was in Wal-Mart. The store clerk didn't appreciate it... Anyway, from what I saw, this gun could be useful. The main problem is that it is extremely hard to fire only one dart, and so all your time is spent trying to re-load the gun's five darts. If you only load 1 at a time, it would work betterm but that kind of defeats the purpose of the whole thing. Not a bad gun for a quick burst of darts, but other than that, not overly useful.

Don't see the gun you want? Leave a message in the Guestbook and I'll try to add your gun as soon as possible.
