Ammunition

Each type of ammo has its own strengths and weaknesses. Here are some of them.

Arrows

In my opinion, arrows are the best of the ammunition possibilities. They have excellent range and accuracy when shot with the right gun. If you are playing outside, they are easier to locate than the smaller types of darts. These are used by guns such as the Arrowstorm and the Crossbow. An excellent type of ammunition.

Missiles

Missiles are used less than the standard arrow. Reasons for this may include their small size, which makes them less able to fly longer distances, and their sensitive fins. If the fins are out of shape even a little bit, the missile flies way off course. However, on the few guns that use this type of ammo, such as the Missilestorm, they seems to work well enough.

Type 1 Darts

Type 1 darts are used in the smaller guns such as Warthog and Secret Shot. They are fired by being put on a tube through which air is blasted. These darts do not fly as well as the larger Type 2 darts, but they do a fair job.

Type 2 Darts

Type 2 darts are by far the most common bullet from Nerf. They tend to fly fast and far, which makes them a valuable asset. They are used in such guns as RazorBeast and Chainblazer. Their ability to fit into an ammo chain for rapid fire makes them invaluable.

Larami

You guessed it! These darts are used in Larami guns. This does not, however, mean they can only be fired from Larami guns. These darts, though small, can sometimes have a range greater than that of the Type 2 darts! (depending on the gun being used.) When shot with the proper weapon, these bullets shoot fast and far.

Balls

Balls are used in multi-shot guns such as the Ballzooka and Master Blaster. They are extremely light, and so have a tendency to go off course. However, since they are always shot rapid fire, this is compensated for with the hefty number of balls coming at once. Overall, not the best type of ammo, but definitely useable.
