Michael A. Loscalzo
BIOGRAPHY
I was born Feb 9, 1950, in Astoria, NYC; the oldest of 4 boys born to Michael Andrew and Lorraine ne Alby. I was raised in East Meadow, NY., about 35 miles from Manhattan. Graduated from E.M.H.S. in '68, and was a member of the Varsity Rifle Team; captain the last year; and a member of the Rendo-Kan Judo Club. I was also a member of the East Meadow Fire Department, Ladder Co #1.
I went on to Nassau Community College; then on to the C.U.N.Y. at Queens, where I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. I completed all Master's level course requirements at Adelphi University, but moved to Florida before the completion of the thesis.
I came to Hernando County, Fl in 1979; and have lived here since. I was employed as a Social Worker for 2 years; then transferred
to the Department of Corrections, where I am still presently working as a Probation/Parole Officer.
My entire family now resides in Florida.

The major undertaking the last 5 years
has been to clear and prepare 5 raw
acres for the 3 horses I have. Florida
'sandhills' do not come easily into
pasture...chainsaws, axes, vines and
cactus that won't quit. Draughts and
horses that eat more than the land
can grow..

Above; Nitro, a Tennessee Walker,after
a long hard morning ride. Nitro, well
mannered and gentle; he can be trusted
even with the most inexperienced
rider. Due to his breed, he paces
rather than trots; and has a nice 'rack'.

Middle; Roper, a Quarter Horse, and
Sabre, a Nevada born wild mustang.
Roper is powerful, headstrong and
hard to stop when he's galloping. He
is extreamely fast, but a fine horse for
the experienced.
Sabre's trot is rough, and he is a little
stubborn, but he's gentle, and loves
people. Almost everyone "loves"
little Sabre.

Below; That's me with the hat, with
Nitro, and Sabre looking on...

Ever since I can remember I was
always fascinated with horses,
and this city-slicker sure has
learned alot..
