Solar pyrography is the unusual specialty of Canadian artist Bud Hnetka. His very original monochrome compositions executed with a magnifying glass to focus the sun's rays on wood panels will also be cross-referenced in the Portraits and Paintings Hall of the E-Museum.

Solarbud Hnetka has been featured in two issues of the Woodcarvers Online Magazine: When he was first introduced in September–October 1999 in Pyrograffiti 2 and telling the story of how it all started and his plans for the future in the January–February 2007 Pyrograffiti 40.

Bud is interested in finding others who use this technique to compare results and methods. If you also work in this technique, or would like to learn more about this artist, his artwork, or technique, contact Bud directly by e-mail.

You are exiting the Bud Hnetka salon.
