"I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand."
-- Psalms 40:1-2
I was standing on firm ground
And I heard a voice say:
Don't be afraid my child
I turned to run inside
And that voice said again:
Don't be afraid, my child
The rain was drenching me
And I said...
I'm not afraid my Lord
I'm not afraid my Lord
Cause I'm your child...
feeling very safe and secure
when a drop of rain hit my cheek
I looked to the sky and above me
there was the shadow of a cloud
and an ominous cloud it was
don't run away my child
I am with you through good and bad
I won't leave you so do not fear
'cause you're my child
but my feet slipped in the mud
I fell to the ground
I began to panic
my heart began to pound
as lightning flashed around me
don't run away, my child
I am with you through good and bad
I won't leave you so do not fear
'cause you're my child
I was soaked to my soul
when a hand reached out to help me up
it pulled me out of the wet dirt
and put me on dry rock
And I heard a voice say:
"Now do you believe me?"
I'm won't run away my Lord
You are with me through good and bad
You won't leave me so I do not fear
Cause I'm your child
I'm won't run away my Lord
You are with me through good and bad
You won't leave me so I do not fear
Cause I'm your child
Your child
Your child
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging."
-- Psalm 46:1-3
