Filamentality
Want an easy way to build a webpage...without using HTML? Try Filamentality, "a fill-in-the-blank interactive Web site that guides you through picking a topic, searching the Web, gathering good Internet sites, and turning Web resources into activities appropriate for learners." It helps teachers to combine the "Filaments of the Web" with the "learner's mentality." The result is a Web-based activity that teachers can create without a background in HTML.

This site offers a variety of exercises on topics that challenge the foreign student of Spanish. To quote Cherice Montgomery, who mentioned this site on FLTEACH, "some of the exercises...do an amazing job of integrating cultural content....They are visually appealing, easy to use, and expose students to various aspects of the target culture as students complete the exercises."
Puzzlemaker
Create and print a variety of puzzles, including crosswords. Be sure to read the FAQs ("frequently asked questions") before you begin. MAC users may have some difficulty printing puzzles, but I've heard that the FAQs do help.
Quia--Online Games and Quizzes
Quia is free and unbelievably easy-to-use site is very popular with students. In a matter of minutes, the teacher can create four different games: flashcards, matching, concentration, and word searches using vocabulary from the textbook. Even students who are reluctant to make flashcards will enjoy using the computer to play these games. Each game has its own URL, which can be given to students, or linked to the teacher's website. Quia has an index of games that other teachers have created. NOW TEACHERS CAN CREATE THEIR OWN "CLASS PAGES" AT QUIA--IT'S EASY, FAST...AND FREE!!!
Puzzles
Create and print crossword puzzles, word searches, and scrambled word puzzles. Again, within a few minutes teachers can create puzzles that are tailored to the needs and interests of their students.
