Robin's Story

"You know, there have been a heap of tall tales and legends told about Robin Hood, all of them different too. We in the animal kingdom have our own version, the story of what really happened in Sherwood Forest..."

Known as the fox who stole from the rich to feed the poor, Robin Hood was a hero in the eyes of the poor people of Nottingham. He and his friend Little John were masters of disguise and could easily outfox the rich people they robbed, particularly if that person was the phony king on King Richard's throne, Prince John and his nosy snake, Hiss. Why, they even dressed up as gypsies once and were invited right into the royal coach by his "majesty." Robin never kept a cent of the money he took though, he dressed up as a blind beggar and took the money to the poor citizens of Nottingham, who were being taxed to death by the scurvy Prince John.
Robin had a weakness though, his childhood love, Maid Marian, a beautiful lady fox, King Richard's cousin. When Prince John used the prize of a kiss from her to lure Robin to an archery tournament, our hero couldn't refuse. Using his incredible powers of disguise, Robin dressed up as a stork and fooled everyone! Everyone, except Marian and Prince John. He was captured, but with the help of his friends, he was able to escape to Sherwood with his love Marian for a night of reminscing, singing, and dancing.
The infuriated lion prince tripled the taxes on the poor people of Nottingham and we all ended up in jail, yup, even I was there. Why! That Prince John even had Friar Tuck arrested and charged with treason! Unless Robin could save him, he would hang! We all knew Robin would come through, and indeed he did! He and Little John saved all of the poor villagers and Friar Tuck, reclaimed all of the tax money and humilated ol' bustle britches and Prince John. Robin almost died in the attempt, but he had the courage and will to survive!
Well, luckily for us, good King Richard soon returned and he just sorta straightened everything out. He pardoned Robin and gave him permission to marry Marian. He ended up with an outlaw for an inlaw! Robin and his lady fair were hitched and lived happily ever after.
