Dimitri's Story

As a young kitchen boy in the royal palace, mischievious Dimitri had no family and little money. He watched the parties and luxery of the imperial palace, but was never part of it, he was only able to linger on the outside just long enough to catch a glimpse before he was snatched away. When the palace is attacked by revolutionaries, the brave boy helps the Grand Duchess Marie and her granddaughter Anastasia escape the palace with their lives, but falls even lower in life himself as a result. As he grows up, he hatches schemes to make money to keep himself alive and becomes a pretty good Con Man with his partner, friend, and father figure, Vladimir. He's always enthusiastic, but doesn't have a great deal of morality as is evidenced when he thinks up "the biggest con in history!", passing off an actress as the Grand Duchess Anastasia and earning the huge reward offered by her grieving grandmother in Paris. With a music box he recovered the night of the attack when he was just a boy, he figures he has a better chance than anyone to pull this off. This is when Anya comes into his life. Dimitri sees a PERFECT Anastasia in Anya, why, she even looks like the missing princess and she's looking for family in Paris!! They convince her that she might really be the missing Princess, and Dimitri, Vlad, and Anya start down the long road to the glittering city of Paris to reunite Anastasia with her grandmother. Along that road, Dimitri and Anya find themselves falling in love... and Anya learns that she really is the lost Duchess Anastasia. But, Princesses don't marry kitchen boys and Anya and Dimitri are faced with the hardest decision of their lives. Do they remain silent and forever apart or express the love that is in their hearts, meaning Anya will have to give up her crown...
