Insights > Goodies > Halal Product Reviews .:Deodorant:.

This particular review is not dedicated to review a whole list of products. It is to answer a question that has been asked by several Muslims. In America, the halal status of foods and/or products is vague. Several Muslim sisters and brothers have asked the question: What deodorant is halal? In order to answer this question I have provided only one deodorant that fits Islam's guidelines below. Please note that the status of this product is only applicable to American consumers.

This product is a gel. I love the fact that it has no scent. It stopped wetness and odor all day with one application. Great for sensitive skin like mine.

.:Other comments:.

These comments were taken directly from drugstore.com:

"(five stars) I have used this product for years and it is the only one I found that doesn't sting and burn my sensitive and allergy prone skin. I read someone complain of it getting on their clothes, but there is no need to put on a large amt. I barely twist up from the bottom and if I get too much, just dab under both arms, then roll out. If you cannot wear regular brands without stinging or rashes, please try this wonderful product."
"(one star)This is not a good deodorant. You need to apply it twice or more a day, also when you put it on you will need to wait until it dries, anyway it will be on your clothes and wont' protect against odors."

"(five stars) This is my favorite deodorant. Both my husband and I have experienced rashes with other deodorants, but not this one. It's TERRIFIC!!"

"(one star) I really liked this deodorant until I started to notice white stains on my clothing underarms. Is there bleach in this stuff? It's ruining a lot of my clothes. I don't have time to sit around and wait for it to dry after I put it on. I definitely will not buy this product again."

.:Halal Status:.
As stated by an Almay representative, this product does not contain any animal ingredients nor any alcohol. Almay does not use any hidden ingredients in any of their products. The product does not carry a kosher or halal symbol but it does qualify for halal and kosher statuses right down to the packaging. Please note that this status is valid until January 2004 (when I will have to contant Almay representatives again).
