November News I hope that everyone is taking advantage of this beautiful fall weather we have had recently. It is hard to believe we are so close to the end of the semester and the year. We only have 2 more scheduled meetings before the end of the year. November 18 and December 2 at 12 noon in the fireside room. We have scheduled another bake and craft sale for November 25 and 26. The times will be from 9am to 1pm. We were able to raise $290.20 with our first sale in October! That could only have been accomplished with the dedication and efforts of our members. We hope everyone will again participate so we can see our funds for our service project grow. If you have not done so yet, please contact me with items you would like to donate or times you could watch the table. Our trash pick-up, which was scheduled for Wed., Nov. 6, was cancelled because of lack of availability of members. We will be rescheduling at our next meeting, so think of a time that will fit into your schedule better. Our Holiday Banquet will be on Friday, December 6 at 2:30. There will be a gift exchange at this time. A $5 limit has been set on the gifts. It would be nice if we could have many members come and share in a good time so we could all get to know each other better. I will send you more information as it becomes available. It was requested by the Goodman Elementary School that we purchase books for all their students for the Young Author Program. It was voted that we do this and we will present it to them in December. Again I will send more information as it becomes available to me. We will wait to present them with school supplies until May. Well that is all I have for now. I hope you can all get outside this weekend and enjoy this weather while it last. Considering we live in Missouri, it probably won't last for long. Till next time, Lynn Schuster, PTK secretary |

To all PTK members, We are up and running in our new school year and it looks like it will be a GREAT ONE!! We have set our new meeting day and time as every other Monday from 12-1 p.m. in the fireside room. Our next meeting is scheduled for September 23. I would like to let you know of a few things we have planned for this month. On Wednesday, Sep. 18, from 1:30-2:30 we will be hosting a orientation meeting for new members in the fireside room. Snacks will be provided. On Saturday, Sep. 28 we will have our formal induction ceremony starting at 10 a.m. We really hope that many of you will come to these events to meet new members and fellowship with old ones. Extra hands are always needed and appreciated. We understand that there are some schedule conflicts that may prohibit you from attending the meetings, but we don't want that to stop you from participating in other ways. We will be having a trash pick-up and craft and bake sale in October. Any way that you could help with events, such as set-up or take-down, sitting at a table for a designated time, or supplying items for an event will count as participation in the chapter. We are in the process of making posters to advertise our up-coming events, so keep watching the bulletin boards. 'till next time, Lynn Schuster, PTK secretary |

PTK members,
October is finally upon us. The cooler temperatures, Friday night high school football and a mid-term break will get us all in a wonderful Fall mood. I wanted to let you know of the main items we will be working on with PTK this month. Our meetings will be on Monday October 7, and Monday October 21 at 12 noon in the Fireside Room. Please come if you can. On Wednesday October 9, at 1:30 we will have our first trash pick-up. We will meet by the flagpole and it will last about 1 hour. You are more than welcome to bring someone else with you to this activity if you want. It is very rewarding to beautify our surroundings, and we always have lots of fun doing it. October 14-16 has been designated as our bake and craft sale days. We will get more details about it at our next meeting. There are many ways you can help with this fund-raiser. If you can't participate in the actual selling of items on those days you can always drop something off with a PTK advisor or officer to sell. Everything will help with this and remember, it is to raise funds to buy school supplies for disadvantaged children. A big thank you to those of you who have contacted me about helping with activities. If we all work together we can make things happen. Till next time, Lynn Schuster, PTK secretary |
