These are my PMU (Pregnant mare urine) foals I have adopted. These babys
were born on a farm that harvests the urine to produce menapuse and other
hormone drugs for women. The urine is collected during gestation. Then the
pregnant mares are turned out to foal. The foals, like these seen here, are
born and raised on the PMU farms. They can be released for sale or adoption
in September.
For years PMU farmers sold the foals to feedlots for slaughter. Now, PMU
Farmers raise regestered top quality stock as they see the intrensic value
to the foals. Many farms have private auctions and the foals are sold to
private homes. Other farms still sell to feedlots with no private sale.
These are the babys PMU Foalquest is concerned with and these are the babys
in need of adoption. HTTP://WWW.PMUFOALQUEST.COM is a PMU rescue which links
PMU farms and PMU Foals purchaced by foalquest with approved adoptive homes.
I adopted these babys seen below via foalquest.
Dream Catcher
Foalquest also has a special
fund in place for special needs foals that with a bit of Xtra love and
attention medically, babys who would other wise meet a certin end at
slaughter are given a second chance. My foal Dream Catcher was a Kathy Mann
fund foal. He had an umbillical Hernia that has since reduced and he was
made available for adoption. We are very proud to have Dream Catcher as our
foal. Dream Catcher or (DC) as he is lovingly known, is an unregestered
Quarter Horse. Our other foal was #SC-05 now known as VENUS. Venus is a
Thorobreed/Percheron cross filly and a really lovely girl. We see a future
for her with my sons in pony club and doing the Show Hunter circuit one day.
Venus
I have included both foals photos from the HTTP://WWW.PMUFOALQUEST.COM
website, and have been given updated pictures of venus to share here when a
friend visited the PMU Farm to see her foal she adopted. These foals will be
comming home to me in mid September and I will update the site regularly
with photos and info on both foals. To all those who have a special and
vested interest in Dream Catcher - I promise I will keep you all informed
every step of the way should he need surgery to correct the Hernia.
Hopefully it will continue to reduce as he matures and surgery will not be
necessary. Anyone interested in adopting a foal can go to the foalquest
website HTTP://WWW.PMUFOALQUEST.COM and submit an application for approval.
If you do not see the foal of your dreams in the site farms pictures fear
not, the foalquest staff takes wish list orders for the auctions they attend
and can get just about any foal you can wish up. They are all professional
horseman with many years of experience behind them. They pick some terriffic
foals. This site is only one of many private sites done by adoptees for
there foals. If you look at the other sites as well you will see the quality
of these babys, and the love all of the adopted owners have for the babys
they adopt. I hope this site will assist prospective adoptors and others
alike, to adopt a foal, or to spread the word that these foals are available
for adoption anywhere in the USA and Canada. also note the adoption fees are
most reasonable at scale prices, same as the meat buyers pay for them, and
some basics, vet check and coggins tests are povided and included in the
fees as is the health certificates and paperwork for border crossing into
the USA. There are special hauling arrangements made for the USA and parts
of Canada as well and the cost for shipping is unbeatable. You couldn't
bring them in your own trailer for less!!! hope you enjoy the site and help
support HTTP://WWW.PMUFOALQUEST.COM Every foal matters - Jane D, Venus,
and Dream Catcher
