Q: When and where did the project take place?
A: Colonial House took place from mid-May to October of 2003. The colony was built on land owned by the Passamaquoddy in Machiasport, Maine, three hours northeast of Bangor.

Q: How were the participants selected?
A: The participants were selected out of some 10,000 applications. Production wanted people who were interested in learning about history, and who would commit themselves to the project. Applicants also had to be healthy and able to take a five month absence from their 21st century lives to complete the project.
Q: How many "House" shows have been made?
A: Thirteen/WNET New York have produced both Colonial and Frontier House. Wall to Wall Television of Great Britain produced 1900 House, 1940 House, Manor House, and the upcoming Regency House, set to air in the fall of 2004 on PBS.
