Caller Bob and Cody walked into the general store, and Simon greeted them. Caller Bob handed him a gift card. "Whats this?" Simon asked as he took the gift card from Caller Bob. Caller Bob waited while Simon read the card. "Who did this?"

"Im not at liberty to say." Caller Bob replied.

Before Simon could get angry with Caller Bob, Cody chimed in, "Im ready to start Mr. Cromwell." Cody glanced around the shop with a smile on his face.

"Have you ever ran a store before?" Simon inquired before saying anything else.

"No, but it cant be that hard." Cody said as his roaming eyes fell on Simons face.

Simon shook his head, "I dont want to leave some whippersnapper running my store. I wouldnt have a store to come back to." He shook his head again. "I wont do it."

"Now Simon youre exaggerating. Besides Javier will be here to help him." Caller Bob said as he saw Javier in the doorway.

Javier had been listening to the conversation from the doorway of the stock room. "Yeah pa, Ill be here."

"Its only for a few days until someone pays the fee." Caller Bob smiled and nodded to Javier as he came into the room.

"Yeah, whos gonna pay the fee to get me back. I might end up being a Pony Express rider forever." Simon shook his head again in exasperation of this nonsense.

"Naw, Im sure someone will pay the fee. If it goes on too long, Ill pay it," Caller Bob said.

"I suppose you want to stay here, and Im to stay at the station." Simon looked at Cody after noticing his bag in his hand.

Before Cody could answer Jacy entered. She had seen Caller Bob and Cody walk into the store, and Cody had his bag with him, so she knew what was going on. "Hello, Mr. Cromwell, Cody, Caller Bob."

"Hello, Miss Jacy, can I help you?" Simon inquired.

"Uh . . . Umm . . . Well," Jacy wasnt quite sure what to say.

"Simon is going to be a Pony Express rider, and Cody is going to run the store." Caller Bob announced.

"Wow, thats great. Are you starting now, Cody?" Jacy smiled at him.

"Yes, I am." Cody gave Jacy a big smile and walked towards her.

"Good, then you can help me." Jacy took Codys arm and led him over to the bonnets. "Which do you think looks best on me."

"Everything looks good on you." Cody replied, and Jacy blushed.

At this moment Melissa happened to be looking in the window. OH NO, she thought. Jacy and Cody together again. This just wont do. She entered the store. "Hi everybody." Everyone greeted her. "What are you doing, Jacy?"

"Im trying on bonnets, and Codys helping me to decide which one to get." Jacy replied as she wondered why her little sister was here.

"But you already have lots of beautiful bonnets." Melissa stated.

"I dont have lots and besides Ive been thinking of giving you some of mine, so Ill need some more." Not wanting Melissa to spoil Codys first day at work, Jacy figured she needed to get Melissa to leave. "I thought you were watching the office." She frowned at Melissa for leaving her post.

"I am . . . I was . . . I . . . well . . ." Quickly thinking of an excuse, Melissa said, "Smoke needed a walk."

"Well, then go and give him a walk then." Jacy instructed.

"But Jacy," She stopped in mid-sentence because of Jacys stern frown. "Oh, alright." She mumbled goodbye and left. Mad Melissa marched out, grabbed Smokes rope and while going home, she thought what does she see in Cody. Jimmys her soul mate.

Cody helped Jacy pick out two bonnets, and he even helped her decide on two bottles of cologne that Cody insisted smelled divine on her. She also purchased a little bit of candy to take to Melissa. As she was leaving she told Cody that she would be back soon to buy some food because they were getting low, thinking to herself especially since Smoke has been getting into the food.

"Jacy!" Caller Bob called as he followed her out the door. Jacy stopped outside and turned around to see what he wanted. "I have a card for you."

"Me?" She asked. "Me? She repeated. This was amazing. Who would want her to switch jobs, maybe Caller Bob. It would be nice if it was Javiers job. Then she could work side by side with Cody. She read the card, and she was stunned speechless. "How could? Who would?"

"You know I cant tell you." Caller Bob answered before she could collect her thoughts.

"I cant believe this." Jacys mouth was agape.

"Come on, I have to deliver this card there, so you might as well come along.
