What would a crochet page be without afghans? Especially afghans that work up easy and fast!



PUFF STITCH STRIPE AFGHAN

Finished size: approx. 53" by 72"
MATERIALS: Approx. 65 oz. worsted weight yarn and crochet hook size N (9.00mm). GAUGE: working double strand, 9 dc and 5 dc rows = 4".

NOTE: Entire afghan is worked with 2 strands of yarn.
Ch 160 loosely.
ROW 1: (right side0: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across: 159 sc.
ROW 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), turn; dc in next sc and in each sc across.
ROW 3 - 6: Ch 3, turn; dc in next dc and in each dc across.
ROW 7: Ch 1, turn; sc in first 2 dc, ch 3, skip next 2 dc, work Puff Stitch as follows: (YO, insert hook in next dc and pull up a 3/4" loop) 4 times, YO and draw thru all 9 loops on hook, ch 1 to close (puff stitch made), * ch 3, skip next 2 dc, sc in next dc, ch 3, skip next 2 dc, work puff st; repeat from * across to last 4 dc, ch 3, skip next 2 dc, sc in last 2 dc: 26 puff sts.
ROW 8: Ch 5, turn; 3 sc in first puff st, * ch 3, 3 sc in next puff st; rep from * across, ch 2, dc in last sc.
ROW 9: Ch 1, turn; sc in first dc, sc in next 2 chs, * sc in next 3 sc, sc in next 3 chs; rep from * across: 159 sc. Rep Rows 2 - 9 until afghan measures approx. 52", ending by working Row 6; do not finish off.
EDGING: Ch 1, turn; sc evenly around, working 3 sc in each corner; join with sl st to first sc, finish off.



PANEL AFGHAN

Finished size approx. 51" by 67".
MATERIALS: approx. 57 oz. worsted weight yarn, and crochet hook size N (9.00mm). GUAGE: Working with 2 strands, 9 sc and 10 rows = 4".

NOTE: work with 2 strands of yarn for entire afghan.
Ch 152 loosely. ROW 1: (right side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across: 151 sc.
ROW 2 - 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in first sc and in ea sc across.
ROW 5: Ch 5 (counts as first dc plus ch 2, now and throughout), turn; dc in first sc (counts as first v-stitch), * skip next 2 sc, [(dc, ch 2, dc) in next sc (V-stitch made)]; rep from * across: 51 V-sts.
ROW 6 - 8: Ch 5, turn; dc in first ch-2 sp, work V-st in ea ch-2 sp across.
ROW 9: Ch 1, turn; sc in first ch-2 sp, * sc in next dc, sk next dc, 2 sc in next ch-2 sp; rep from * across: 151 sc.
ROW 10 - 12: Ch 1, turn; sc in first sc and in ea sc across.
ROW 13: Ch 6, turn; sk first 2 sc, sl st in next sc, * ch 6, sk next sc, sl st in next sc; rep from * across to last 2 sc, ch 3, dc in last sc to form last loop: 75 loops.
ROW 14: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in first loop, (ch 1, sc in next loop) across to last loop, ch 1, 2 sc in last loop: 151 sts.
ROW 15: Ch 1, turn; sc in ea sc and in ea ch 1 sp across.
ROW 16 - 96: Rep Rows 2 - 15, 5 times; then rep Rows 2 - 12 once more. Finish off. Looks great with or without fringe!
