My Review of the Evening

My husband & I ran a little late getting to the soundcheck but luckily Amy was late starting the soundcheck. Dasha was worried about me. Great to meet some FOA people...Kelly & Her mom, Kim B., Debbie from 20 minutes away from me, Al, Dasha, Sean, & Gail & her sister. The soundcheck was totally cool as Dasha saved me a seat right in the front row center for the soundcheck. Amy came out & it was cool to see them work up some new songs for the evening. Will had an awesome idea for working up the song "Say Once More" which is one of my favorite all time songs. It was cool to see them go from not knowing the song at all to singing & performing it at the soundcheck & then at the concert a little later. Since the soundcheck started late, it also ended late too so we did not get an personal time with Amy but we could hand anything we had to give her to Justin, her tour manager.

The soundcheck ran late...some FOA people were not on the list for the soundcheck @ the venue & did not have a confirmation email (I think some had an email confirmation & not on the list but still not allowed in the soundcheck-I am confusing as to the particulars but know that some people were not allowed in the soundcheck who had signed up through FOA) which left some FOA people mad...a few were offered free tshirts.

Thanks to Dasha for saving me a seat in the front row right in front of Amy so I got some great video I will post. We could take pictures during the soundcheck but no during the show.

A few of us FOA people had dinner at the Irish Pub nearby & had a great time getting know talk to one another & laugh.

Amy played so many songs I had not heard in awhile while was a pleasant surprise. One funny story Amy told was that she was recently in Alabama & a fan had told her that she listened to Amy growing up & had all her records but that her mom was disorganized & had put all of Amy's records in Aretha Franklin album covers & this woman didn't know any better...So when this woman saw Amy in concert for the 1st time & a "skinny, white chick" came out singing Baby Baby, this woman was surprised...it was so funny...

Amy also stated at one point that she didn't feel like talking much as she had said everything she wanted to say in the book...she did seem sort of out of it.

Corrina & the piano man's son, Josh did backup vocals & shakers on Baby Baby & Angels. After Baby Baby, Corrina went to whisper something to Amy & Kim talked in a little kid voice to add-lib what Corrina might be saying to Amy...funny moment.

Amy commented at the start of the concert that she felt like she was having one of those moments at this concert where she was naked/not ready for an exam because she hadn't brushed her teeth & the day seemed to get away from her.

At soundcheck, many of the band members looked tired (I thought especially Gene) & Kim kept yawning.

This show had so many songs I hadn't heard in awhile....Will's idea to add Say Once More at the soundcheck for the show was such an awesome idea that many FOA people were happy to hear including me.

Amy seemed very willing to play whatever people wanted to hear as she played every song a person yelled out. They worked up Lead Me On right in front of everyone & Amy was worried that she was in the wrong key singing which made some laugh...but Amy could not get the guitar key right & quit playing mid song.

After singing Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus, Amy commented that she didn't know in her youth that her best sinning was yet to come & talked about Jesus as her foundation getting her through some troubled times.

Amy talked about Vince while introing True Love Waiting...about how the 8 years with him have changed her life & that she was writing her book one day & the thoughts of how he had changed her life entered her mind & she wroted that song.
