July 25, 2006 I Attended the XM Artist Confidental Taping at XM's DC Studios

SPOILER ALERT>>>>THIS TELLS OF WHAT HAPPENED AT THE TAPING SO DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW>>>>>

Amy performing at XM studios

Great to see many familiar faces at the XM show...
I got to go at the last minute and it was so awesome! as Kim and Dave said...it was so intimate to be in that small of a venue...and I remember Amy saying that she has played to that small of a crowd recently...and commented about "gracious on the way up and gracious on the way down"

I did not know what to expect as I do have XM but have not listened to any of the artist confidental shows...they video taped us and took pictures...as Dave said the sound was so crisp and sharp...it totally rocked...I remember Amy commenting that this was the first time she had played since Ft. Worth...Amy did talk ALOT during this show and I loved it.

She sang 6 songs...Stay for Awhile, Takes A Little Time (they had to redo this because Amy's guitar was not plugged in the first time...but I was very happy to hear it again ), Baby Baby (Amy said that she wrote it for Millie whom was now 16 years old and that she was wearing her shirt to the show today...goodness that made me think...I would love to be able to wear my 16 year old daughter's shirt when I am in my 40's but I don't think that will happen ...since we were not allowed to take pictures...it is hard to describe..it was a funky designed shirt with pinks, blues, and browns in a pattern with flowing sleeves), Father's Eyes (very awesome the way they did it), Saved By Love (Amy told of the song being written for her sister and of them having their kids at the hospital one day apart...she told this on other tour stops in April), and Lead Me On was the last song...and it was awesome to hear in the recording setting because the guitar and drums were so distinct that it just made me tap my feet even harder.

Amy had originally wanted to just come in and sing 12 songs but when the XM on air personality said it would be a talking/ question and answer/and singing show...that was changed.

I don't want to tell all the stuff but I have to say that I almost died when Amy was talking about Minnie Pearl and how they had shared the same dressing room at a show and Amy ended up seeing Minnie Pearl while she was undressed and Minnie Pearl (whom had had breast cancer and reconstructive surgery) said that she may be 70 some years old (I can not remember the exact age) but from here to here (Amy motioned to her chest area) she was 17 I did not think I was going to stop laughing....and I laugh now as I type. Amy talking about her favorite place to escape and what she likes to do to escape...and talked about why fame did not change her and what she is thinking about these days...

Kim asked a great first question about the dvd/cd experience in Texas and 2 other Amy fans got to ask questions...Dasha was in the on deck circle to ask a question when the program ended...I would have loved to have her ask a question on air.

Kim asked Amy about Texas and what was most spiritually impacted her? and Amy said the FOA people whom donated money and told her about it at the Coffee... Amy said she has been thinking about life and what she wants to do in the next segment of her life and she does not know if that will include singing in the spotlight...(now she did tell us after a fan asked about if that meant she was quitting and leaving us that she is not walking away for her fans)...She said her favorite place to songwrite is on a property with cabins that she owns in TN (I think this is the property where Vince and her got married)...she said she took Corrina and a neighbor girl camping there one of the nights before the XM show and while they were listening to High School Musical Soundtrack, Amy was acting out her emotions on a hill and said she may have looked weird to someone whom did not know what she was doing. She talked about Three Wishes and how she was still doing little wishlets on her own that she had wanted to do for people on the show. She said she was glad the show was over because it was very tiring to travel and that the schedule for the show was very demanding.
