My Review
I got to the mall at around 4pm and saw that Amy was in the tent warming up. I asked if I could go in to hear her and the security guard said No so I stood on the curb and looking in the doorway to watch Amy warm up...I heard her do House of Love, Lucky One, and the police coversong, Every Little Thing He Does is Magic.
Amy sang "God Bless America" at the food court opening of the mall which ran late starting...I did not stay for all of that but heard that she and Ruth sang a song for that program later and some people won chances to get her autograph.
We waited over an hour and a half in line to get in to find that we could not sit in the front section as it was for the VIPS and companies so I was in the front row of the back section...Amy walk in right near me to the show as that was the only entrance and she walked to the middle of our first row of the back...I tried to get Robin to go get Amy's autograph but she would not go so I went up and waited in line...as I got to the front of the line, the MC for the evening was kicking things off....Amy was looking her way and turned to see me as the next person and she got this surprised happy look in her eyes (I will never forget it)...She remembered me...she said Hi...asked how I was doing..and said she was glad to see me...and hugged me...Amy then said that we should sit down out of respect for Ruth whom was starting her set and I said ok....I was so psyched she remembered me and I got a hug...it was awesome...I did not care that I got nothing signed or no picture as I have gotten those many times before tonight...
What a great show...Ruth did 2 songs on violin and she was awesome to hear.
Amy's set was
Stay for Awhile
Lucky One
House of Love
Eye 2 Eye
Amy commented on Kim Keyes being the funniest person and starting to tour with her during a difficult time in her life and how she pulled her out of that with laughter
Saved By Love
If These Walls Could Speak
El Shaddai
Funny moment ...Amy said thought Ellen Degeneours (sp) was 2nd funniest to Kim Keyes then added that was why Kim was making so much money singing backup in a parking lot...then talks about Kim doing her Cher impersonation...then Kim tells of a new impersonation and does Cher singing Loretta Lynn's Coal Miners Daughter...it was so funny!
Things We Do For Love
Every Little Thing He Does Is Magic (Police Cover Song)
Baby Baby
I Will Remember You with Ruth playing violin
I did try to see her after the show but they wisked her out the back after she saw only a few people.
She did ask for people to call out songs they wanted to hear but the ones that they yelled out she could not do/did not know with her guitar/acoustic set up. I wish I would have yelled out the Wallet Song...did not think about this till later as I'd love to hear it.
It was an awesome show. Great to hear Amy's voice...everyone was playing acoustic guitars and a few times that did drown her out a bit, I thought.
