I sat in the 8 row center stage for this show but it was even more fantastic than I would imagine because before the show, I got to meet Amy Grant Gill backstage thanks to the Fallawake Street Team. Amy was running late for the meet & greet due to an interview but when she came out she looked fabulous...black/grayish long sweater jacket tied with a black shirt underneath & a cool belt with blue jeans & black flip flops. I shook her hand & told her I was a fan since "The Collection" & asked if she was going to sing "Simple Things" like she did in Atlanta & she said she was going to try but she was having problems with her voice. I had her sign a picture that I took from the Syracuse, NY State Fair 8-24-2002 show with a gold marker that I asked Amy to press down on & the gold ink ran on my picture...I thought "Oh, no" but Amy managed to make the big blob into a big "J" for my first name & signed it "Thanks for making the trip, Amy Grant". My mom got to meet Amy too & we both got our picture taken with her. When we were done the meet & greet, Fernando Ortega was already signing his set. He was extremely funny inbetween songs and his voice was awesome. I enjoyed his songs especially the one with the accordian.
Amy was AWESOME...she came out on stage & whispered into the microphone "It is so quiet in here" which made everyone clap and yell.
She sang...
Takes A Little Time
Angels...Amy talked about how music helps us catalog our memories & one guy in the audience remembers hearing "Angels" in CA while he was in a uncomfortable position...(I think he was throwing up or something) & Amy said well at least you are in a more comfortable position now..
Lucky One..poor Amy forgot the words on a verse of this...
Big Yellow Taxi ..after the song, Amy talked about how she enjoyed being back on the road & that she felt like a dog still on a chain because Millie would not let her sing around her which embarrassed her (said Millie wouldn't let her sing in the car in the driveway...funny joke)
Love Will Find A Way ..she talked about flying first class to have more room with Corrina during a flight & by the end she was covered in throw up & doo-doo surrounded by businessmen...it was funny..
El Shaddai
Father's Eyes
Fairest Lord Jesus
It is Well/River's Gonna Keep on Rollin'
Softly and Tenderly
Questions and Answers ...someone asked where Vince & Amy were during 9/11/01 & Amy said they were at home & Vince was getting ready to fly to Vegas to which she said not a great place to admit you are flying to in a church (the show was in a church)
I Need Thee/Nothing But the Blood
Imagine
Ruth McInnis Instrumental ..Amy invited Ruth up to do a song from a PBS special...it had a celtic feel to it & it was very pretty.
I Will Remember You
Simple Things (love the song...awesome song...especially when Amy holds the one note & her voice hits different notes & goes up & down...)
Chorus...kinda...
I Dream of Simple Things
I can't Believe it
Like the (something...sorry forgot) that this day brings
true love and the miracle
love forgiving
I Believe in Simple Things
Wise Up
Lead Me On
House of Love
Vince Sang Liza Jane ...Amy wanted him to do it because she loved his performance of it last night in Myrtle Beach & he said this was the first time he had done it in a church.
Baby Baby...Amy talked of taking Corrina to the grocery store & trying to keep her occupied while she shopped..so she put earphones & a walkman of Vince on for Corrina since she loved her daddy's music & said Corrina was going around the store listening to Vince & saying Daddy Daddy ...it was cute.
Children of the World
Helping Hand
encore of
Thy Word ...she had said she'd sing this for someone & forgot..
Every Heartbeat

Great concert. After leaving for my car which was parked near the buses, I noticed photo flashes going off near those same buses & I ran to the buses & there was Vince signing stuff & talking to people. I had him sign my A Christmas to Remember program from last year's Christmas concert & thanked him for a great show & waited for Amy to come out. There were others there waiting as well & I helped some people out...by taking Robert's picture with Amy & also taking Paul & his friends picture with Amy since he had run out of film & I mailed him his pictures (I would hate this to happen to me & hope someone would be as nice as I was in that situation). Then, I got to see Amy again & had her sign the Christmas program that Vince had signed & also had her sign a picture of Amy & me from 1997 Riverstone Farm Crisis Pregnancy Benefit & told her the photo doesn't look like me since I lost 80 lbs (actually lost 60 lbs but got all nervous & said the wrong number) & she asked how I lost the weight & I told her it was easy to lose weight running after a 3 year old & she said "Isn't that the truth". While she was signing my stuff, she recognized me from the meet & greet before the show & noticed that I had changed clothes...made me felt good that she remembered me.
Perfect evening & I was doubly blessed to see Amy before & after the show...wish I would have been able to say what I really felt to Amy but...I was excited about the evening.

Amy looked very relaxed & like she was enjoying herself. It was a great evening & not that many people were there so it was like a nice sort of more personal gathering since she did interact with the crowd somewhat.
