IF YOU WERE TO DIE THIS SECOND, DO YOU KNOW FOR SURE THAT HEAVEN WOULD BE YOUR HOME??? HOW DO YOU KNOW???
This is probably the most difficult page that I have worked on, because it is the most important. There is nothing of greater importance than that of your eternal soul. It is a great responsibility to share the truth of Jesus Christ with those who are not sure of where their eternity lies, and it's a task that I do not take lightly.
My friend, there are many who will outline for you a three step plan for salvation, a 1-2-3 repeat after me program, but salvation is not in "steps" or a prayer or baptism or works or anything else that many people believe it is in. With God's help, I hope to show you the road to salvation by pointing you to the person of Jesus Christ, the only one that can save your soul from hell!
Did you know that God's Word says that ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)? And that the wages of sin is DEATH (Romans 6:23a)? ALL have sinned and the penalty for that sin is an eternity in a real and literal place called hell. Luke 16:23a "And in HELL he lifted up his eyes, being in torment..." Revelation 19:20b "...these both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone." I don't know about you but this is not a place that I want to go!
Now for the good news! You don't have to! Jesus made a way of escape. The second half of Romans 6:23 says "...but the gift of God is ETERNAL LIFE through Jesus Christ our Lord." Praise God! He has made a way for each and every one of us to avoid hell and spend an eternity with Him in heaven. Would you like to know how? Let's look at a few Scripture verses:
- John 1:7b"...that all men through him might BELIEVE."
- John 3:15 "That whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but have eternal life."
- John 3:16b"...that whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
- John 3:18a "He that BELIEVETH on him is not condemned..."
- John 5:24 "VERILY, VERILY, I SAY UNTO YOU, HE THAT HEARETH MY WORD, AND BELIEVETH ON HIM THAT SENT ME, HATH EVERLASTING LIFE, AND SHALL NOT COME INTO CONDEMNATION; BUT IS PASSED FROM DEATH UNTO LIFE."
- John 6:47b"...he that BELIEVETH on me hath everylasting life."
- Acts 13:39a "And by him all that BELIEVE are justified from all things..."
- Acts 16:30,31 "And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.'
- Romans 10:14a "How shall they call on him in whom they have not BELIEVED?..."
Are you beginning to see a common theme? Over and over again in Scripture you will find that God tells us to BELIEVE on Him for salvation. So you might say, "well, I believe that there is a God so I must be saved." NO! That is not what the Scripture is talking about. As a matter of fact, it says that the Devil himself believes that there is a God and trembles! (James 2:19) The Bible is speaking of believing ON the Lord Jesus Christ. Believing that he died for your sins on the cross of Calvary, believing that he rose again the third day, believing that he lives today and is ready to save your soul if you'll just believe!
So you may be thinking "ok, tell me how to believe and I'll do it." That is something that only the God of heaven can do for you. John 6:44 says "NO man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:..." That "drawing" is the convicting power of the Holy Ghost. Conviction will bring an awareness of your sin and of your need of salvation! When God draws you; when you feel that conviction of the Holy Ghost, it will bring with it repentance. II Corinthians 7:10 "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of..." It will also bring confession of your sins. I John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." And finally, that drawing of the Lord will bring about conversion (salvation). II Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
There it is, from God's Word, how you must be born again. I can't give you a prayer to say, I can't give you three steps to heaven, but what I can do is pray for you. If you are not sure that Heaven will be your home when you die, please write me and I will gladly answer any questions you may have or simply pray for you. Do not delay!
