The 30th of May 99 found your dear old webmaster and trusted side-kick "Long Haul Balls" (LHB) cruising up I-270 in my old ragtop Jeep. Our destination was the 75 & 80 Dragway somewhere in the rolling hills west of Baltimore, north of Damascus and south of Frederick. Well, the top was down and theweather was super! A greatday for a drivethroughthe Maryland countryside especially whendriving to a dragstrip and car show! I had been remiss and not attended a dragrace in a long time. I had forgotten about the thrill of screaming Chevy engines, the loud roar of uncorked headers, and the smell of burning tires. Here's a couple photos courtesy of LHB. Enjoy! |

'57 Chevy 150 Note the vintage AmericanRacing wheels and nostalgic race car graphics - sweet! We were ableto watch this fine '57 make severalpasses down the 1/4 milestrip. Here it sits waiting for the next race. |
